If you are new to vaping, there are a few things you will need or want to know.
New to Vaping - The Basics
Vaping is a tobacco and smoke free alternative way of getting a nicotine hit. Typically consisting of a tube; cartridge, atomizer (you may come across the term 'cartomizer'; this is applied to the 'rolled-into-one' cartridge and atomizer) and a rechargeable (VIA USB) battery, the vape (e-cigarette, vaporizer) applies heat to a water-based liquid (also known as e-juice, e-liquid or vape liquid) to generate vapour and simulate a smoking experience.
New to Vaping - Nicotine Strengths
Containing propylene glycol or (depending on make) vegetable glycerine and available with or without flavourings (there are literally hundreds of flavours to choose from), e-liquids are infused with nicotine in varying strengths. Categorised in milligrams, these strengths include:
• 6 mg - Ultra Light
• 12 mg - Medium
• 18 mg - Regular
• 24 mg - Strong
For those wishing to vape without getting a nicotine hit, there are also e-liquids containing 0 mg of nicotine. The greater the nicotine strength is, the stronger the resulting throat sensation (kick, hit) will be. It is obviously up to individual users which strength is most suitable for them.
Tip: When you are new to vaping, it is recommended to start with a low-strength e-liquid and gradually increase strength until you find the e-juice that best meets your nicotine demands.
Where you can Vape
It is currently legal to vape almost everywhere, but, as vaping is being increasingly legislated around the world, there may be some restrictions. Ultimately, as long as you ensure you are aware of and respect such restrictions, as well as being generally courteous towards others around you, you should be just fine.
